Job Description
To lead on the origination and execution of M&A transactions involving West Africa
To develop a regional strategy and proactively generate ideas for marketing and solution delivery to existing and target clients working in partnership with SCB colleagues in the client coverage network as well as with SCB colleagues in Corporate Finance in Africa and internationally.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Help position SCB as one of the leading Corporate Advisory banks in West Africa.
2. Developing regional strategy and proactively generate ideas for marketing and solution delivery to existing and target clients working in partnership with SCB colleagues in the client coverage network as well as with SCB colleagues in Corporate Finance in Africa and internationally
3. Oversee quality control of work, build up execution capabilities and local regulatory and industry knowledge across major sectors
4. Responsible for leading financial analysis, financial modelling, reviewing project contracts and legal documentation
5. Responsible for leading negotiations with Client and other market participants
6. Handle aspects of internal administration of projects, including obtaining of approvals within authority limits applied from time to time. Ensure that audit procedures are met and good quality review & deal documentation is conducted
Qualifications & Skills
Highly motivated individuals with a strong record of achievement in academics and full time employment in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.
Candidate should have a Masters / MBA / CPA degree or Bachelors degree with 10 years relevant experience from a good university.
Superior analytical aptitude, creative problem solving abilities and excellent communication skills.

Key skills include:
i) experience in executing M&A transactions in Nigeria
ii) ability to develop client relationships and be trusted advisor
iii) ability to lead a team and people skills work in matrix organisation involving multiple stakeholders
iv) familiarity with other key softwares such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Bloomberg, etc
v) generate valuations / prospectuses . information memoranda / investment teasers / pitch books
vi) general industry / country / company researches

In compliance with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Act of 2004, all applicants should ensure that they have completed the mandatory NYSC programme. A discharge certificate will be required as evidence of completion of the programme. Where an exemption has been granted, a certificate of exemption will also be required.
