The President of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Dr Nasir Fagge made a public statement yesterday, 15th October to all Nigeria Institution that 35 per cent of its students ought to be accommodated on campus.

He reffered to the relentless killings of pupils in some parts of the country as unfavorable and also condemnable.

He pointed out that the union was unsettled by the development, stating the union had ordered affected institutions to look into the occurrences and that it was waiting for the outcome before taking proper steps.
Most of all, Dr.Fagge stated that the requirement for every institution was that a minimun of 35 per cent of its students should be accommodated on campus and ASUU was pushing for at least 50 per cent of students to be accommodated on campus.

“ASUU is against having police or military on campus because of what has happened in the past. We do not want what happened during the Ali-Must-Go crisis and what happened in Zaria in the past to repeat itself,”
