Any business owner that does business online must be familiar with these three words; Reach, Impression, and Engagement.
They are metrics used to measure the performance of a post online.
IMPRESSION: This refers to the number of times people saw your post.
That is, if someone saw your post on their feed then saw it again when someone shared it to their story or any other social media platform, it will be counted as 2 impressions. But will still be counted as 1 reach since it’s the same person that saw it.
ENGAGEMENT: Refers to the total number of actions performed on your post such as likes, comments, shares, saves, website clicks, etc.
Engagement is by far the most important of the three because the higher your engagement the higher your reach.
You can calculate your engagement/performance by the number of actions performed on your post divided by the number of reach on that post. It will give you the percentage of your performance.
Hope with this explanation you now understand the concept behind the three metrics discussed above. Any business owner that does business online must be familiar with these three words; Reach, Impression, and Engagement.
